Dr. Martin is a native of Evansville. He attended Harwood Grade School and Central High School. After graduating from Central in 1984
After graduating from Central in 1984, he enlisted in the Army and served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne for four years.
Upon completing his enlistment, Dr. Martin entered Indiana University, Bloomington, in 1988. After only three years as an undergrad at IU, Dr. Martin was selected for early admission to IU's School of Dentistry in Indianapolis.
He graduated with honors in 1994 and re-entered active duty in the Army as a general dentist.
Dr. Martin served as an Army dentist for three years at Fort Lewis, Washington.
In 1997, Dr. Martin was selected to attend the Tri-Service Orthodontic Residency Program (TORP), in San Antonio, Texas.
After graduating TORP with high honors in 1999, he served as the orthodontist for NATO headquarters in Mons, Belgium. In 2002, Dr. Martin left active duty and returned home to Evansville to begin private practice. He later retired from the US Army Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel after 20 years of active and reserve duty.
